Okay, well first of all, it sounds like you have a lot going on there so I'm happy to hear that you plan to have it maintained and repaired. The "genie lamp" is your oil pressure light, not the check engine light. You need a system diagnostic because based on what you're describing, I could think of about 12 things that are wrong and still not have the right answer. You need some more information and a diagnostic is the best way to get it.
