Is there an additive to put in bathwater in tropics to disinfect when bathing toddler who likes to taste water

I am traveling to dominican republic with 16 mo old who likes to stick her hands in mouth when in bath and slurps water - is there a way to practically disinfect without boiling - eg adding iodine or bleach and if these are practical are they safe for child less than 2
