What is a good Zebra Finch Diet?

Hi, i own two zebra finches, i am currently only feeding them seed and an ortment of fruit and vegetables and i was wondering what specific fruit and veg they will eat because they have not made any attempt to eat the ones i have supplied. And i am going to buy mealworms for them, should i take the heads off them before feeding the to my birds? Thanx
