How do i breed zebra finches?

My dad and i bad bought two zebras like, a term ago, and we put a nest in there, and feed and water and veggies, and the cage is really big, but they haven't even sat on an egg. yeah, they have had eggs, but i think they kick them out or somethin, because i always find broken eggs at the bottom of the cage. What do i do?
